Vin Scully would vote no on Pete Rose for Hall of Fame

Vin Scully, as only he can, made a persuasive case against Pete Rose entering the Baseball Hall of Fame.Scully was asked recently by AARP Bulletin whether he would vote for the Hit King (Scully does not have a vote). Scully's eloquent (of course) response (via The Associated Press): MORE: Classic photos of Vin Scully | Classic photos of Pete Rose"I wouldn't. Should he be in? He should be. But by his own hand, he locked the door and kept himself outside." Rose agreed to be placed on Major League Baseball's permanently ineligible list in 1989 after investigator John Dowd determined Rose bet on baseball. That has kept him from being considered for the Hall by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. In December, commissioner Rob Manfred rejected Rose's latest appeal for reinstatement.Scully, 88, is entering his 67th and final season as a Dod

gers broadcaster.
