MORE: Watch 'ChangeUp,' a new live whiparound show on DAZN announced Kevin Gausman is getting a five-game suspension and undisclosed fine for throwing at Jose Ureña. He’s appealing.— Gabe Burns (@GabeBurnsAJC) May 6, 2019The 28-year-old pitcher likely threw the pitch as a form of retaliation, as Urena drilled Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. in the midst of a hot streak at the plate with the first pitch in a game on Aug. 16. The benches cleared and Acuna Jr. ended up leaving that game with an elbow injury. Urena received a six-game suspension for hitting Acuna Jr. with his fastest pitch to that point in the 2018 season. But the outfielder would return to play in the Braves' next game.Gausman wasn't shy about his intent when he talked with reporters last Thursday. He said that Urena would have to "deal with the consequences" of his actions.Atlanta may have anticipated Gausman's ejection, as it called up right-hander Touki Toussaint prior to Friday's contest. The Braves went on to claim a 7-2 victory behind six strikeouts in four innings  from Toussaint. They went on to sweep the Marlins in the next two games of the series.Should Gausman's suspension stand, he could miss one scheduled start.
